How to bring your family ‘with’ you when you elope!

This one goes out to my futures brides, grooms, and to the family and friends of the couple! Especially those thinking about eloping but still unsure about the whole thing. Maybe you’re wanting it to be an intimate moment for you and your partner, but also want your family and friends to be “with” you in spirit! Or want some reminder of them with you during your elopement! I totally feel you! It’s hard to please everyone, it’s hard to do something so big without people you thought might be with you. But things, ideas, and thoughts change and that is OKAY! Go elope my beautiful people! I have some ideas for you to keep those people close to you even if you are far away from them! And to the friends and families, this is for you too to give you some ideas of how to support their elopement!

I had the honor of being part of Alaura and Luis’ elopement, and they had such supportive family and friends back home that sent them off with so many meaningful goodies!

Before they made the trip to Bozeman for their elopement, Alaura and her girl-friends back home went to the lip lab for a girls day out starting with brunch and ending with the lip lab! This place is so cool y’all. I have never been to one, but now I really want to go! It’s where you can make your OWN lip stick shade. That’s right. A one of a kind lipstick! And you can even customize engrave it with whatever you want; your name, your wedding date; etc! Alaura engraved hers with a “Mrs. Castillo.” Now when she opens her makeup bag, she’ll always smile when she sees her wedding color. What a great way to bring that memory with your friends along with you to your wedding!

Another item she had with her would also be a super great gift idea if your friend is getting married! Buy them this cute jacket with their new last name on it! They can wear it on the wedding day, and then wherever you go to celebrate after the wedding! Alaura wore it after her wedding and around Bozeman when they went to celebrate, and it was the cutest thing! Again, another gift she will forever treasure to remember her day, and also the friends that got it for her!

The picture below is something Luis’ mom had made on Etsy. It’s safety pin with pictures hanging off of it for the inside of his jacket! She put some pictures of people that couldn’t be there with them on the day, so he can keep them close to him in a different way! How cute is that, and so so SO creative!

Another item Luis had with him was a beautiful flask with their wedding date on it! One of his friends sent him off with this, so he can celebrate with his wife and also cherish his friendships! LOVE this.

Someone also got them this hilarious cowboy hat ring box! So even your ring can be in the Montana vibe. Another little gift from friends to make them laugh on their special day!

There are so many things you can do for your friends or family eloping! Even though you can’t be there in person, you can think of creative ways to be with them in other ways! Some other things I’ve seen that I love: Everyone send a picture of yourself to the couple, then they can print them out as a stickers and make a wall of all your “guests” in the room while you’re getting ready! It also gives your photographer a great photo op while you are hanging them on the wall. It’s also such a fun and silly way to have “guests”!!

Another idea I’ve seen is having your family and friends write you a letter to read either at your dinner that night, or before your ceremony while you’re getting ready. This one can be a real tear-jerker, but also incredibly meaningful. I love watching this one. And it’s such an easy way to show your support and love to the couple!

I hope this was all helpful for you brides, grooms, and the family and friends of a couple eloping! Maybe it gave you some ideas, or sparked some interest! Or maybe it helped you decide to finally elope! Whatever it may be, I’m so happy for your future and hope you have the greatest day! If anyone has other ideas to keep those loved ones with you, comment and share for all of us!
